We’ve recently added a new retro inspired jumper to our collection. When I purchased the car fabric for our new coveralls, I also wanted to get something for our girls.
This adorable fabric is from Japanese designer Etsuko Furuya.

Isabella had lots of fun modeling. She is very excited for her new jumper.
Of course little brother also wanted to model, but he just doesn’t get the concept…
We have also added retro coveralls for her to the shop. They are the same coveralls as the boys, but with the more feminine scooter pocket.
Both items available now.
The birthday season has arrived for our family. From August ’til December, someone has a birthday.
This past weekend was Romans big day. He is 5 now and so proud to be big.
Here he is in his new birthday shirt from Finley and Oliver. I had to get it because we call him Rooster and his favorite colour is green. love it!
As much as I love my son and his new shirt, the main reason I’m writing is because I need to talk about the cake.
Ice cream cake.
I found this recipe and it could not be easier. I chose Cherry Vanilla for the bottom, and chocolate for the top. The middle is crushed chocolate cookie and fudge. It’s just like the ice cream cake you buy from you know where, except this is so much better, higher quality and much easier on the wallet!
Just think about all the combination possibilities!
Ice Cream Cake
1. Allow ice cream to soften, then spread on the bottom of pan until the pan is almost half full.
2. Sprinkle with crushed Oreo cookies, then spoon hot fudge sauce (at room temperature) over the top of this. Set in freezer until frozen.
3. Remove from freezer and add second layer of ice cream. Smooth it evenly with the top of the cake pan.
4. Return to the freezer and freeze until very hard.
5. Remove from freezer and frost with a mixture of equal parts ice cream and
thawed frozen whipped topping beaten together.
6. Return to freezer until serving time.
As you can see, it was a hit!
We’ve changed our retro coveralls…
but don’t worry, it’s just a small change.
The owl fabric that we use for the pocket is no longer in print.
We’ve been on the hunt for an equally cute option, and I think we found it.
